Alphanumeric is hiring a Network Engineer with 3 to 5 years' experience to work onsite in Collegeville, PA with our pharmaceutical client. 

In this role, the Network Engineer will design and implement data communications networks. Ensure quality and performance of network design. Be very skilled in troubleshooting. Participate in and perform installation and deployment of data networks and resolve any technical issues. Verify and update project plans for assigned projects. Maintain system security as defined by the Client. 

Self-starter to drive the following areas of expertise:
  • LAN routing and switching, wireless controllers and AP Access Points
  • IT - internal network side.  OT - Office technologies (special function)
  • Experience with Cisco IOS and Nexus platforms 
  • Working knowledge of multiple generations of Cisco wireless products and understanding of wireless standards
  • Working Understanding of wireless antenna theory, and internal, external, and industrial applications of wireless access points
  • Experience with additional switching/routing and wireless platforms and vendors preferred, especially HPE/Aruba, Juniper, and Meraki.
  • Experience with routing protocols BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, and IS-IS mandatory.
  • Experience with Microsoft Visio.
  • Experience with Ansible, Python, other automation technologies preferred.
  • Understanding of different fiber optic and copper network interface standards necessary.
  • Infoblox - key technology use for DNS and DHCP
  • Experience with SolarWinds Orion network management platform 
  • Experience with Cisco ISE is preferred
  • Cisco Prime  - wireless management platform.
  • Ability to read and understand output from predictive Ekahau Site Survey
  • Capable to work independently and in conjunction with strategic integrators.

Responsibilities Involve
*    Consult with Project Managers for Network Project Requirements
*    Attend Key Stakeholder Project Meetings
*    Create switch and rack elevation diagrams
*    Rack and configure new Cisco routers and switches
*    Knowledge of firewalls (Palo Alto)
*    Modify existing routers and switches to meet project requirements
*    Replace legacy network hardware with current hardware and update device configurations as necessary
*    Document all activities via Remedy/Pandora application, Word, Excel, & Visio
*    Wireless Tech Refresh - Cisco WLC/Access Points
*    Decommission legacy network switches, LAN controllers, wireless access points
*    Update Visio diagrams to accurately reflect new infrastructure
*    Develop and execute test plans to check infrastructure and system performance
*    Update DNS (InfoBlox)and TACACS records
*    Document new device names, serial numbers, asset tags, patch panel assignments, switch & port assignments as necessary, physical location, label core switch connections...etc.
*    Assist Project Managers and Support Team with new subnet migration including static ip devices such as printers, audio visual devices, MOXA devices, and POS devices

Job Requirements


Qualification Requirements
CCNA/CCNP preferred, or at least 5 years' experience

Knowledgeable in the following technologies
Software: Cisco IOS and NX-OS, MS Office+Visio, MS Windows 7-10,Ekahau Site Survey, Ekahau Spectrum Analyzer Model III, Cisco Prime,  BMC Remedy, SecureCRT, Putty, Ansible, Python

Hardware: Cisco 3800, 4500 5000, 9300, 9400, 9500, 6500 series switches, Cisco WLC  5500 series, 2500, 5800, and 9800 series Wireless LAN Controllers, 3700, 3800, and 9100 series Access Points

Cisco Wireless Networking: Cisco WLC  5500, 2500, 5800, and 9800 series Wireless LAN Controllers, 3700, 3800, and 9100 series Access Points
