🔹 Now Hiring: Senior Accountant / Lead Accountant (Contract-to-Hire)

📍 Richmond, VA (Hybrid - 2 days onsite required)

 💲 Conversion Salary: $105K - $115K + 10% Bonus

Alphanumeric is hiring a Senior/Lead Accountant to support a high-impact accounting and financial reporting function within a complex, regulated financial environment.

This is a contract-to-hire opportunity with strong long-term potential for candidates seeking stability, growth, and exposure to complex accounting operations.

🚨 Important Requirements

• Local Richmond, VA candidates only (must be able to work onsite 2x per week)
• Must be eligible to work on a W2 basis (no C2C or 1099)
• No visa sponsorship available
• CPA highly preferred (or actively in progress)

🎯 What You'll Be Doing

• Support complex accounting and financial reporting activities under US GAAP (and exposure to statutory/regulatory environments)
• Perform detailed account analysis, reconciliations, and journal entries across multiple accounting areas
• Evaluate accounting treatment for complex transactions and ensure compliance with evolving accounting standards
• Participate in the adoption and implementation of new accounting guidance and requirements
• Support internal controls, audit readiness, and financial reporting processes
• Partner cross-functionally with finance, audit, and business teams to resolve accounting issues
• Identify process improvement opportunities and enhance reporting accuracy and efficiency

✅ What We're Looking For

Required:

✔ Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

 ✔ Experience in complex accounting environments (public accounting strongly preferred - Big 4 or large regional firms)

 ✔ Demonstrated experience with technical accounting, financial reporting, or adoption of new accounting standards

 ✔ Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills

 ✔ Ability to adapt quickly in evolving and complex accounting environments

 ✔ Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally

Preferred:

⭐ CPA (or actively pursuing)

 ⭐ Background in regulated industries (financial services, insurance, etc.)

 ⭐ Experience supporting audits and internal controls

❌ What This Role Is NOT

• Not an AP/AR-focused role
• Not a transactional accounting position
• Not suitable for candidates without complex or technical accounting experience
