Corporate Risk Manager is responsible for planning, designing and implementing Risk Management policies and protocols for the Acacia Network and its related entities ('Acacia'). The Risk Manager will implement risk management solutions such as insurance, safety and security policies, business continuity plans, or recovery measures.

The salary is $150,000/Annually.
 
KEY ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:                                                                                                                      
 
  • Manages the development, monitoring, maintenance, implementation and management of the Network's property, casualty, and Workers' Compensation programs utilizing risk financing and risk control techniques. 
  • Works collaboratively with service line and department personnel in support of Workplace and Consumer Safety to integrate Risk Management throughout Acacia.
  • Identifies and analyzes risks and hazards to which Acacia, employees, consumers, families, general public or property may be exposed.
  • Sets measurable goals and objectives for the Risk Management Program. Determines the most effective methods of handling each risk exposure. Conducts an annual review of the Risk Management Program.
  • Coordinates the creation of risk management policies and procedures including: safety and loss control programs and procedures, emergency management processes and plans that limit risk and provide for business continuity
  • Establishes and manages relationships with various risk management and insurance consultants and vendors, including brokers and agents.
  • Coordinates the process (including administrative aspects) of applying for and renewing insurance coverage, including Workers' Compensation programs, consistent with the risk financing goals and objectives.
  • Completes insurance renewals, extensions and endorsement of changes and acquires new and/or specialized types of insurance coverage as needed; completes insurance policy audits and/or premium verifications; reviews contracts for appropriateness.
  • Evaluates, monitors and manages all property and casualty claims for the corporation in conjunction with brokers, insurance carriers and the Claims Administrator.
  • Establishes and maintains Request for Proposal (RFP) process for the selection of property and casualty brokerage as required.
  • Understands and communicates claims management philosophy and strategy to Acacia executives, staff and board members, as requested.
  • Manages litigated and complex claims in coordination with legal counsel and senior management.
  • Ensures external reporting requirements and compliance with regulatory agencies are met and maintained.
  • Develops and implements procedures to establish and monitor the proper use of risk control techniques including the assessment of new operations and due diligence.
  • Develops, implements and monitors employee incentive programs related to safety and loss control efforts
  • CERP - coordinates activities of Corporate Emergency Response Plans and maintains outcomes of sub-CERP activities. Interacts with all areas and Service Lines to develop and maintain CERP program
  • Fleet Management/Driver Safety - identifies driver selection procedures, driver training program, accident reporting procedures and parking guidelines, fleet inspection procedures and a preventative maintenance program for the fleet.
  • Facility/Fire Safety- outlines inspection procedures, general safety rules and guidelines, fire safety, implementation of emergency procedures, and a preventative maintenance program.
  • Corporate Safety Committees and Service Line Safety Committees - Facilitates an interdisciplinary team that reviews safety concerns, approves initial risk management policies and procedures, and recommends remedial action to management.  Prepare materials for meetings and maintain minutes of meetings.  Coordinates Safety Committee objectives with quality improvement initiatives throughout Acacia
  • Safety Training & Administration - Responsible for the development, implementation and monitoring of the Safety and Loss Prevention Programs, such as driver safety and discipline, facility safety, fire safety, loss prevention and mandatory safety requirements) for employees by providing necessary training materials and training for all matters related to safety and safety programs
  • Physical Site Surveys - conducts surveys of locations to assess potential exposures and hazards
  • Regulatory Compliance (in coordination with the Deputy Counsel for Compliance) - develops, implements and maintains code of safety regulations and guidelines to assure regulatory safety requirements are met including OSHA, state and NFPA codes;  researches and responds to OSHA complaints; attends Fire Marshall and OSHA inspections and follows-up to ensure continued quality improvement.
  • Technical Safety Assistance - receives and investigates all reports of safety hazards and reckless drivers; provides technical safety/compliance assistance to all programs and support departments.
  • Trend Analysis - Completes a trend analysis of claim information using performance metrics and benchmarking to assess, improve, develop and implement effective loss control programs, determine risk evaluation, cost effectiveness, utilization of alternate risk financing techniques and prevention techniques and resolve safety issues related to Workers' Compensation claims.
  • Other duties as assigned.


REQUIREMENTS:                                                                                                                                  
 
  • Bachelor's Degree required, preferably in Risk Management, Insurance, Business Administration or related field
  • Knowledge of safety and loss control processes; minimum eight (8) years' experience with risk financing and risk control techniques related to property.
  • Casualty and Workers' Compensation exposures.
  • Industry certification such as Associate in Risk Management (ARM), Professional Risk Manager (PRM) or Certified Safety Professional (CSP) highly desired. 
  • Minimum five (5) years demonstrated strong management experience, skills and ability to direct others and work independently is required. 
  • Must possess strong computer skills and demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Access, Outlook and PowerPoint; experience with risk management software platforms highly desired. Must have a valid driver's license.
