Job Description

Rivera Group is seeking a Data Center Operations Manager who wants to work on a cutting-edge project and has a strong background in data center management. This position will require a committed individual with the ability to express and defend their opinions and ideas. Rivera Group is a fast-paced environment where the willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies is a must.
 
Position Title:  Data Center Operations Manager                     
Location:  Laurel, MD
 
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Leads all operations for a highly specialized data center
  • Conducts maintenance and manages monthly/weekly code changes
  • Manages multiple production environments, 1 pre-production environment and 1 sandbox environment
  • Provide oversight of software development team to ensure successful code deployments
  • Ensures seamless, transparent support to customers
  • Coordinates support with multiple teams to meet operational goals
  • Plans, orchestrates and coordinates test events with government and industry customers
Position requirements:
  • Hands-on experience working in a Data Center or other similar production environment
  • Recent hands-on experience with Linux
  • Knowledge of software development processes and network engineering
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
Desired education and experience:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or related technical discipline
  • Minimum of 8-10 years’ experience as a Data Center Manager or similar position
